TVM were the Television Broadcast Facilities provider for the state funeral in Castlelyons last week of the late Thomas Kent. The funeral was broadcasted live on RTÉ Television and RTÉ Player, and on screens outside the church for the large number of public attendee’s. It was also available to all the major broadcasters around the world.
45,000 watts of power from 2 generators facilitated TVM’s 4 trucks in Castlelyons last Friday. TVM recorded 75 channels of Audio with 11 cameras in 15 different positions both inside and outside the Church, including 2 Camera cranes to ensure comprehensive coverage of the prestigious event.
Some of TVM’s crew had been to the Church on a number of occasions prior to the event finalising everything with RTÉ, the Office of Public Works and Fr.Colman PP. The entire crew were there from Thursday morning getting all the 7.5km of cable and equipment in place. A crew of over 40 people brought the funeral coverage to the nation including locals Kevin Galvin, Helen Arnold, Donal J Arnold, Eddie Hally, Eric Murphy, Kieran Dorgan, Dave Bohan, John Flynn, Jason Campbell, Betty Cahill, Mossie Barry, Pat O’Flynn and Marie Gubbins.
